IHG Bartender (Part time) in Adelaide, Australia

The first Hotel Indigo to be launched in Australia, Hotel Indigo Adelaide Markets comprises 145 guest rooms, a lively restaurant- Market & Meander, and the iconic rooftop bar- Merrymaker with panoramic views of Adelaide, we are setting the trend for local dining and cosmic cocktails!

As a Food & Beverage Attendant and Bartender, you’ll be a helpful host, a local expert, and a proud brand ambassador. Your creativity and artistic flair will be evident in the classic and innovative drinks you create for our guests and regulars. Whilst based in the Merrymaker Rooftop Bar, this role will move across our outlets - in room dining, restaurant and bar.

Whether preparing drinks exactly as our guests want or recommending and delivering delicious culinary delights, your vibrant and accommodating personality will engage guests and ensure they enjoy a memorable experience.

A little taste of your day-to-day:

  • Creating a warm welcome for every single guest that sets the tone for their experience with us

  • Preparing and serving drinks to a high standard as well as highlighting promotions for our guests

  • Owning your bar – keeping an eye on stock, inventory and equipment as well as keeping the space cleaner than clean

  • Working closely with the restaurant and kitchen teams to deliver a truly seamless food and beverage service

  • Handling credit transactions

  • Helping set exceptional cleanliness standards across all work areas and equipment

  • Minimising waste and keeping your supervisor or duty manager in the loop about any unsafe equipment, low supplies, or safety incidents

  • Taking on ad-hoc duties to keep the service running smoothly

What we need from you:

At Hotel Indigo, we love people that are authentic, confident, and passionate about creating outstanding guest experiences. We are looking for energetic and approachable people, with excellent communication skills, and a can-do attitude! Our Neighbourhood hosts will ideally bring a passion for the Adelaide region; always curious to discover more and share thoughtful suggestions with our guests.

You will also have:

  • Experience & knowledge - strong bar skills and previous experience working in a hotel, restaurant or bar is essential

  • The strength to lift, push and pull big objects up to 23 kg, which can also involve bending and kneeling

  • Your strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills will turn issues into opportunities so every guest leaves with great memories

  • The flexibility to work across a rotating roster including nights, weekends and public holidays

  • Responsible Service of Alcohol Certification (SA/Nationally Accredited) & Food Safety Certificate

  • The unrestricted right to work in Australia
