  • Ability to complete assignments independently with minimum supervision

  • Incorporating requested edits to creative files adhering to AA&D production processes

  • Preparing final files to approved specs, pre-flighting, packaging and uploading to vendor for print

  • Assembling Microsoft PowerPoint presentations

  • Naming and organizing a variety of asset types based on predetermined nomenclature in an organized manner to be accessed and easily modified by others

  • Assisting with the maintenance of the asset management system as directed

  • Employing and mastering the internal communication workflow management tools to expedite multiple projects while maintaining a professional presence

  • Repurposing existing design collateral into other formats or media

  • Collaborating in a professional, productive, and positive way with all Communications team members and the larger AA&D business groups

  • Supporting the Creative Services group in its goal of being an innovative, creative, high-quality, and service-oriented organization

  • Learning new design-related software and techniques through professional seminars or Harvard training, as appropriate and necessary

  • Managing framing for projects as needed

  • Managing production on smaller projects in the absence of the production manager

  • Other duties that would be in conformity with the level of the position.

AA&D is comprised of the University Development Office (UDO), Faculty of Arts and Sciences (FAS) Development, AA&D Resources, the Harvard Alumni Association (HAA), and the Office of the Vice President (OVP).

The Creative Services team within Alumni Affairs & Development is in search of an experienced Junior Graphic Designer to fill this full-time, non-exempt position. This junior-level position reports to the Associate Design Director, Creative Services, and is responsible for the design edits and pre-production of a variety of print and digital communications materials. This person should possess strong production skills in print and digital, extraordinary attention to detail and adherence to processes, be able to juggle multiple projects in a deadline-oriented environment and have experience with industry-standard design software.
