Overview: The Principal Business Analyst is responsible for analyzing and improving operational processes associated with onboarding and supporting customers. This role will work closely with the operations team to understand their needs as well as the engineering team to develop requirements throughout the software development cycle. The Principal Business Analyst will serve as the subject matter expert on implementing and supporting the product(s). *Specialty pharmacy operations knowledge preferred Duties and Responsibilities: Serve as the lead business analyst responsible for gathering requirements and product backlog management, working with internal and external stakeholders to ensure Inovalon delivers key quality deliverables to internal and external clients; Collaborate with operations teams to lead efforts to document, understand and analyze operational processes; make recommendations to improve efficiency and measure the results of those efforts; Analyze the current system or application, conceptualize and define operational problems, model and present recommended enhancements and modifications, lead the development process for each new enhancement or modification, from planning and preparation to testing and implementation; Develop and define data and project requirements, applying judgement, statistical tests, and data analysis as required; Lead monthly User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities for assigned platform; identify and triage issues and conduct monthly release demos for internal staff. Perform validation and testing of solutions through managing and executing user acceptance plans, collaborating with the development team during user testing and complex validation sessions, and responding to technical and functional product questions raised by stakeholders, and reformulate solutions as necessary to ensure that the recommended solution is responsive to the data requirements; Assist in production release management including developing release notes and help desk articles to explain new product features for external users; Lead onboarding activities and orientation for new Business Analysts; Assist in the development of road maps and business strategy for assigned product or department; Act as the go-to resource to the rest of the organization on operational process improvement; Maintain compliance with Inovalon's policies, procedures and mission statement; Adhere to all confidentiality and HIPAA requirements as outlined within Inovalon's Operating Policies and Procedures in all ways and at all times with respect to any aspect of the data handled or services rendered in the undertaking of the position; and Fulfill those responsibilities and/or duties that may be reasonably provided by Inovalon for the purpose of achieving operational and financial success of the Employer. Job Requirements: Minimum seven (7) years' experience as a business analyst or related role with exposure to commercial software products; Extensive experience documenting requirements for commercial cloud-based software within the B2B channel; Experience with software-as-a-service (SAAS) distribution models. Extensive experience documenting processes in tools such as Microsoft Visio; Experience working with busin ss stakeholders to inform define application strategies & roadmaps; Agile / SCRUM and Full SDLC experience; Strong business acumen with excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills; High level of honesty, respect, dependability and flexibility; Experience in fast-paced and rapidly growing environment; Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple sets of analysis and requirement elicitation projects; Process oriented with an attention to detail; ability to solve problems independently while collaborating across the organization; Ability to gather feedback from internal and external stakeholders; and Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience. Physical Demands and Work Environment: Sedentary work (i.e., sitting for long periods of time); Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force; Frequently or constantly to lift, carry push, pull or otherwise move objects and repetitive motions; Subject to inside environmental conditions; and Travel for this position will include up to 10%.

The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity. At Inovalon, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate. Base Compensation Range $103,400---$145,000 USD
