Robert Half Software License Manager in Charlotte, North Carolina

Description

As the Software License Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring our organization complies with software licensing agreements while optimizing usage to minimize costs. Your expertise will be crucial in negotiating favorable terms with vendors, maintaining accurate records, and implementing policies to streamline our software licensing processes.

Requirements

icense Compliance:

  • Monitor software usage to ensure adherence to licensing agreements.

  • Conduct regular audits to identify and rectify any non-compliance issues.

License Management:

  • Oversee the procurement, deployment, and retirement of software licenses.

  • Optimize license usage to minimize costs and maximize value.

  • Coordinate timely renewal of licenses with vendors and internal teams.

License Negotiation:

  • Negotiate license agreements with vendors to secure favorable terms.

  • Evaluate and recommend licensing models aligning with organizational needs.

Record Keeping:

  • Maintain accurate records of all software licenses, including purchase details and renewal dates.

  • Manage license information in ServiceNow SAM system.

Vendor Management:

  • Cultivate strong relationships with software vendors and resellers.

  • Stay updated on new licensing models, updates, and industry trends.

Policy Development:

  • Develop and implement software license policies and procedures.

  • Educate and train employees on software license compliance.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.

  • Certified Software Asset Manager (CSAM) or similar certification.

  • SNOW (ITAM and SAM)

  • CSAM (certified software asset manager)

  • Vendor Management

  • Familiarity with cloud-based software licensing and subscription models.

Desirable skills and competencies:

  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.

Years of Experience Required:

  • 4-6 years of experience in software license management
