The Senior Maintenance & Reliability Engineer is responsible for leading the Assembly and Packaging Maintenance and MRO (Maintenance, Repair, Operations) activities, delivering a best-in-class planned maintenance program through creation and improvement of processes and driving cross team

collaboration to deliver reliability excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage execution of, and compliance to, a comprehensive preventive and proactive planned maintenance program.

  • Support driving the site towards an 80:20 planned maintenance environment, using existing tools such as FMECA and Breakdown analysis, and through identification and implementation of new systems, processes and technologies to support this.

  • Ensure PM activities and records are compliant with the quality system and audit ready.

  • Provide SME leadership to the Maintenance team to support maintenance, troubleshooting, continuous improvement and project delivery in a high volume, fully automated manufacturing environment.

  • Ensure that all maintenance engineering associates work in a safe manner. Ensure equipment and tasks are risk assessed, lead and support investigation and near miss resolution, and proactively drive actions to reduce safety risks.

  • Track performance of Maintenance activities against site targets, using appropriate metrics e.g., MTBF, MTTR, scheduled maintenance hours.

  • Manage the Engineering Stores team in delivering a comprehensive MRO program supporting operations engineering requirements.

  • Embed and drive compliance to systems, processes and metrics to achieve effective MRO stores performance, targeting year on year reduction of stock outs impacting production, >99% service level, >95% inventory accuracy.

  • Manage MRO spend and work with team and direct manager to identify and realize cost saving and efficiency opportunities. Review and manage spares stock levels a

  • Develop team capacity through structured training, cross-skilling and problem-solving techniques.

  • Own the BDA (Breakdown analysis) process and work closely with Shift and Process Engineering, Automation and Operations functions in analyzing and actioning breakdown and reliability trends across Pen Needle and Packaging Process.

  • Any other reasonable duties which may be required by management from time to time.

Experience and Education

  • Degree in Engineering, ideally Electrical, Mechanical or Production Engineering.

  • Preferences will be given to candidates with Six Sigma Green or Black Belt qualifications.

  • At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role, with at least two years direct people management experience.

  • Must be able to work and communicate in a cross functional environment.

  • Experience in applying a scientific approach to problem solving, blending analytical and experimental skills to maximize productivity and yields.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Familiarity working in a regulated environment.

  • Previous experience in the use of Six Sigma statistical techniques would be an advantage.

  • Knowledge of PLCs, Vision Systems, High Speed Assembly and Packaging operation would be advantageous.
