Job Overview:

The Polysomnography Tech. performs standard and complex polysomnographic recordings and monitors physiological phenomena throughout such procedures. Administers oxygen and nasal continuous positive airway pressure and employs ventilatory assist devices in accordance with established protocols. Special procedures such as multiple sleep latency testing are also performed. Is responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments (i.e. damaged floors/walls/ceiling tiles/unsecured areas) and medical errors, etc.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Registered Polysomnographic Technician or

• Registered/Certified/License Respiratory Therapist

• BLS through American Heart Association

Scheduling Requirements:

• Full-Time

• Night Shift

• 36 hours per week

Essential Functions:

• Performs standard and complex polysomnographic recordings and monitors physiological phenomena throughout such procedures

• Administers oxygen and nasal continuous positive airway pressure and employs ventilatory assist devices in accordance with established protocols

• Special procedures such as multiple sleep latency testing are also performed

• Scores polysomnogram/MSLT accurately; provides appropriate documentation for physician interpretation. Maintains records, reports, log books as required

• Performs other tasks as requested by the department
