COUNTY OF WOOD Crisis Interventionist - 7 am to 7 pm in MARSHFIELD, Wisconsin

Also serve as access point to community for Adult Protective Services (APS), Guardianship, and Community Service Program referrals. Provide direct support and supervision to clients in crisis in crisis stabilization programming. RESPONSIBILITIES A. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1. Primarily via telephone, provide information on community resources; conduct supportive and crisis counseling; refer clients to appropriate services, determine need for and request Mobile Crisis Responses, provide county approval for Chapter 51 detentions, conduct case follow-up as needed. This duty requires strict adherence to rules of confidentiality. 2. Maintain computerized client records. 3. Create and update computerized community resource data; create and update computer information on ongoing clients. 4. Participate in consultation with other Human Services personnel and Medical Director to review client cases as needed. 5. Assist in initiating/completing other departmental projects or activities as assigned by Legal and Crisis Supervisor. For example: statistical reports, promoting crisis intervention (CI) through public speaking engagements, documentation, scanning, etc. 6. Attend staff meetings as scheduled. 7. Assist in training new staff. 8. Successfully complete all Community Based Residential Facilities (CBRF) training required under DHS 83. Provide supervision to Crisis Stabilization, CBRF clients and assist with daily functions of Crisis Stabilization CBRF. This includes assisting clients with daily living skills, general upkeep of the CBRF, monitoring and documenting progress, linkage and follow-up and other general tasks as assigned. 9. Please visit https://careers.co.wood.wi.us/ for complete list of duties. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: -One year of experience is preferred, working in a crisis intervention program or a clinical setting. -This position requires that the candidate have strong communication skills, both oral and written (interviewing, counseling and documentation). -A broad knowledge base of mental health, alcohol and other drug abuse, and developmental disabiliti s, along with the laws pertaining to these conditions is very desirable. -This position requires the ability to work independently under potentially high stress situations, (e.g., high suicide risk caller). -Basic, everyday living skills are needed. Reading, adding, and subtracting is needed for assessing reports, documenting client contacts.
