Job Description

Our client is looking for a candidate to assist with building an uptime monitoring infrastructure. For Application Monitoring, our client is focusing on Windows Service monitoring, RESTful endpoint (web server) monitoring, and Database availability monitoring. They have different types of applications that they are focusing on now, which are both running on premise as well as on Azure VM's in cloud. Client databases can be on prem (MS SQL Server / MySQL) or Azure SQL Server in cloud. The ideal candidate needs to be a forward thinker.

Skills and Requirements

- Expertise in Application Monitoring -- particularly focusing on Windows Services, RESTful endpoints, and Database availability monitoring.

- Experience building observability, telemetry, and uptime monitoring infrastructure.

- Understanding of Application Architecture

- Experience with On-Premise and Cloud Environments: Since applications are running both on-premise and on Azure VMs, the candidate should have experience working with both environments, including Azure services like Azure SQL Server.

- Proficiency with Monitoring Tools: I.E. PRTG

- Experience with Windows Service Monitoring, Log Monitoring, Web Server Monitoring, System monitoring.

- Automation Skills -- strong automation skills are crucial, as the candidate will be expected to automate actions in response to detected issues, minimizing downtime and manual intervention. null
