About the role

Performs advanced-level, scheduled and unscheduled troubleshooting/services on specialty equipment, instruments, and systems specific to the pharmaceutical research & development industry. Possesses the in-depth technical knowledge required for performing complex, analytical service procedures, instrument qualifications, and calibration tasks.

This role requires up to 75% travel including local/ regional travel.

What you’ll do!

  • Disassembles, inspects, cleans, repairs, calibrates, tests, and performs periodic maintenance of specialty equipment, systems and controls.

  • Operates electronic test equipment, including multimeters, frequency generators and counters, galvanometers, digital logic probes, and oscilloscopes.

  • Performs complex repairs or coordinates the removal of instruments/devices needing overhaul during scheduled maintenance.

  • Fixes/services or resolves problems while performing unscheduled work, as necessary.

  • Records and reports abnormal functions or out-of-tolerance conditions of equipment and initiates corrective action and documentation.

  • Locates part sources, estimates costs, and prepares requisition

  • Reinstalls, tests, evaluates, calibrates, and maintains instruments or devices upon completion of repairs.

  • Documents daily records of inspections, maintenance activity, repairs, and other work performed within approved guidelines and procedures.

  • Coordinates with outside contractors regarding repairs covered by maintenance agreements.

  • Performs work in accordance with approved equipment, calibration, maintenance and safety procedures.

What you'll need

  • Minimum 5+ Years experience with repair, preventative maintenance, and qualification on the following instrument required: Waters and Agilent HPLC/UPLC

  • Experience servicing Single Quad/Triple Quad/Triple TOF strongly preferred .

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Bachelor's degree preferred. Minimum of five years of related experience and/or training. Associates degree preferred in scientific field of study preferred or equivalent related work experience.

  • Must have experience in instrumentation and control or installing, calibrating, maintaining and repairing analytical equipment or equivalent experience required. Requires specialist knowledge, training and experience related to analytical instrumentation to include selected technique groups such as LC-MS, HPLC, GC, Liquid Handling, Automation, Optical Systems, Biology and Chemistry Analyzers.

  • Previous experience in pharmaceutical research and development industry including the making of chemical standards using appropriate techniques for weighing, pipetting, mixing, diluting, and verifying concentrations.
