Description We are inviting individuals to take up an exciting job offer in the finance industry based in San Diego, California. The position involves managing accounts payable in a fast-paced work environment. This role offers a contract-to-hire employment opportunity and is ideal for individuals who are adept at handling multiple responsibilities and have a keen interest in finance and accounting.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the full cycle of accounts payable activities, ensuring that all transactions are carried out accurately and on time.

• Supervise the Accounts Payable Accountant and Accounting Assistant, including delegating tasks, reviewing their work, and providing necessary training.

• Ensure timely payments of vendor invoices and expense requests, checking their accuracy before approval.

• Oversee the bank's positive pay system to prevent fraud.

• Review outstanding checks and void them as necessary to maintain accurate financial records.

• Set up new vendors in the accounting system, ensuring all their information is correct and up-to-date.

• Prepare annual 1099 tax forms for required vendors, following all relevant regulations.

• Reconcile agency credit card monthly statements to ensure all expenses are accounted for.

• Maintain the Financial Edge NXT software system, updating and troubleshooting as necessary.

• Manage the storage of financial records, ensuring they are organized and easily accessible.

• Directly supervise two employees, ensuring their work is accurate and current.

• Assist with annual Agency Audit, ensuring that all expenditures follow established policies and procedures, contracts, and general accounting principles. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Experience with Data Processing

• Familiarity with ERP Solutions

• Comprehensive knowledge of Accounting Functions

• Proficient in Accounts Payable (AP) procedures

• Experience in Check Processing

• Ability to handle Discrepancies

• Knowledge of Expense Reporting procedures

• Proficiency in Financial Edge

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Accounts Payable Supervisor/Manager

• Ability to work independently and in a team

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Detail-oriented, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
