Robert Half Sourcing Coordinator in San Jose, California

Description

We are offering an opportunity to join our team in San Jose, California as a Sourcing Coordinator. This role involves the development and implementation of strategic sourcing activities, coordinating sourcing needs for new product development projects, and managing schedules. This role also requires liaising with Design and Advanced Operations teams, along with the handling of supplier selection processes in line with Global Sourcing Strategy.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and implementation of strategic sourcing activities with assigned suppliers and/or commodities to ensure best quality, service, and value

• Coordinate sourcing needs for new product development projects from inception to completion

• Negotiate and manage supplier contracts and agreements efficiently

• Regularly report on material costs and manage schedules to ensure timely delivery of products and services

• Act as a liaison between all sourcing activities and Design and Advanced Operations teams

• Handle supplier selection processes in agreement with Global Sourcing Strategy

• Manage supplier relationships, ensuring optimal performance and contract compliance

• Implement strategic sourcing activities and coordinate logistics for efficient material handling

• Use negotiation skills to get the best value from suppliers and third parties

• Handle the accounting functions related to sourcing and logistics operations

Requirements • Proven experience in a logistics clerk role or similar

• Demonstrable skills in reporting, operations, and payroll

• Proficient in materials handling with a focus on quality and design

• Familiarity with commodities, logistics, and negotiation

• Experience in the implementation of logistics processes

• Ability to act as a liaison between various departments and suppliers

• Understanding of sourcing, product development, and third-party logistics

• Knowledge of contractual agreements and global sourcing

• Experience in strategic source activities and supplier management

• Knowledge of NIS and supplier selection processes

• Understanding of source activity and accounting functions

• Proficiency in using 'About Time' software or similar time-tracking tools

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

• Proactive problem-solving abilities

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

• Relevant certification or degree in logistics or related field is a plus.
