Associate Project Manager

Location: Shanghai, China

BASIC FUNCTION

Under the functional guidance of the Sr. Manager – DAC Design Tools, this individual will perform the function of Associate Project Leader acting as a POC for the China Region and ensuring on-time delivery of DAC Design Tools to support new product launches for China.

Production is handled through partners. Responsible for the coordination of asset requirements with Project management, Engineering, Marketing and/or Technical Communication staff, and/or vendors.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

1.Coordination and project management of DAC Coordination and Delivery for China Region New Product Development projects:

2. Perform DAC-related project management duties on New Product Development projects, by leading China Region cross-functional teams.

3. Streamline Digital Asset Creation (DAC) project execution by facilitating and coordinating activities across teams. This includes actively managing workflows to minimize project idle time and achieve benchmark performance levels in completing related tasks.

4. Serves as the DAC contact for new product development teams, current product teams, and customer service teams.

5. Serves as the contact for ongoing matters related to technical requirements related to quality and customer usability for China Region only.

6. Periodically present the status of the NPD ongoing projects for China.

7. Maintains contact with internal and external customers to identify perceived shortcomings and field problems, and thereby recommend improvements.

8. Represent the department in the China region in matters of technical content and usability of design tools.

9. Continuously provide actionable feedback and propose solutions for optimizing the Digital Asset Creation (DAC) process, ensuring alignment with regional business needs.

10. Collaborate with the Product Development Excellence Team to establish best practices and key performance indicators (KPIs) for continuous improvement of the new product development (NPD) process.

11. Drive cost optimization for the function's performance by leading cost estimation and execution processes, continuously seeking opportunities for efficiency improvements.

Skills/Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

1. Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (or other applicable four-year degree) and a minimum of six years of experience in project management, product design, process engineering, or manufacturing engineering.

2. Experience in managing projects, working in cross-functional team environments, and/or functioning as project team leader required.

3. Strong organizational and communication skills required.

4. Candidates will use Project Online, Power BI, Windchill, MS Project Online, MS Teams and Office daily. Preference is given to candidates with this software and user experience.

5.Experience with SAP is preferred.

6.Familiarity with Pro/E or Creo is a plus.
