Amazon Senior Program Manager, Market Intelligence, Global Logistics in Shanghai, China

Are you interested in developing large-scale strategic initiatives in the dynamic Global Logistics industry? Amazon Global Logistics is on a mission to eliminate borders between Selling Partners and buying customers and create new logistics benchmarks.

The Global Logistics Revenue Management team empowers our global business to find strategic harmony between growth and profit tradeoffs, while seeking long-term customer value and financial health. We build tools and processes to help identify and drive synergy among supply, demand, operational, and economic planning.

We are seeking a Sr. Program Manger to establish and lead our Market Intelligence engine. You will develop industry benchmarking, price positioning, and metric design/enhancement. You will work closely with the Sales and Marketing teams and interact directly with Customers to further enhance/validate the quantitative metrics you design. Additionally, this role will require close collaboration with Finance and other global teams to understand cost-drivers and corresponding adjustments to enhance customer experience and improve profitability. You will build the single source of truth for market intelligence leading to pricing or rate structure strategies.

The right candidate is an independent self-starter who takes strong ownership, thrives in the face of ambiguity, dives into data, synthesizes anecdotes into data-driven arguments, and rolls up your sleeves to get the job done in a fast-paced environment. You must have strong stakeholder management skills, earn trust, and influence stakeholders/leadership to effectively address industry-level problems. This means you should be comfortable using data to advocate your point of view and do not shy away from vocally challenging assumptions as needed. Ownership, thoughtful articulation, stakeholder influence, ability to deal with ambiguity, and analytical talent are essential to success in this role.

Key job responsibilities

  • Establish industry benchmarking, price positioning, profit analyses leading to overall rate structure and pricing strategy vision

  • Analyze market data data and benchmark product portfolio to identify/assess new demand opportunity and pricing strategy

  • Design and own market intelligence metrics and goals

  • Create relevant mechanism and SOPs for data collection and validation

  • Build long-term partnership and trust with stakeholders across Sales, Marketing, Finance, etc.

  • Stay current on evolving industry standards, geo-political updates, and regulatory bodies as necessary

  • Analyze cost elements that Pricing can influence for improvement of profitability

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in BI, finance, engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics, finance or equivalent quantitative field

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience

  • 3+ years of data analysis experience

  • Experience in complex problem solving, and working in a tight schedule environment

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

  • Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree, or MBA in BI, finance, engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics, finance or equivalent quantitative field

  • Ability to thrive in the face of ambiguity - work autonomously with attention to detail and organizational skills, dynamically develop structure/framework to tackle problems

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $110,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $206,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
