The UX Designer works to help define our user-centric vision, designing and delivering transformative, AI-driven healthcare experiences across a wide array of platforms including iOS, Android, web, and ultrasound device interfaces. You will work closely with product managers, clinicians, and engineers, among other stakeholders as well as end users and patients of our experiences. You will create intuitive, elegant solutions aligned to our brand requirements, design principles and product goals to drive down the cost of healthcare, broaden access for patients and clinicians, and improve outcomes. It is a collaborative role that drives real impact on people’s lives and enjoys creative breadth and variety as you work to create experiences that will touch real people’s lives across a truly global spectrum of users and use cases, from developed countries to remote, low/middle income settings.

Essential Responsibilities:

In this role you will:

  • Design and Design Process - Collaborate with the design, product, engineering, and clinical teams to guide the creation of holistic cross-platform product experiences.

  • User Research - Conduct user research activities, including interviews, surveys, and user observations to gain valuable insights into user behaviors, pain points and motivations. Use this data to inform and evolve design decisions and enhance the overall user experiences.

  • Usability Testing - Plan and conduct usability testing sessions to validate design decisions, using the results to make informed design improvements. Create interactive prototypes and set up usability tests to gather quantitative and qualitative feedback from users and guide design decisions.

  • Collaboration and Communication - You will work closely with a wide range of stakeholders to communicate and present findings, identify patterns, create actionable recommendations, translate those recommendations into designs, shepherd your work through reviews and approvals, and hand off designs for development.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with design, prototyping, and presentation tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite.

  • Familiarity with Dovetail or similar research tools for gathering, organizing, and presenting usability research and insights.

  • Familiarity with front end dev collaboration tools such as Storybook and GitHub is a plus.

  • Familiarity with project management software such as Jira and writing user focused Epics, Stories, and Tasks.

  • Effective team player who is self-motivated and comfortable managing multiple high priority projects, with the ability to rapidly context switch.

  • Track record of identifying new areas of opportunity for product usability, accessibility, process efficiencies, and ensuring excellence in craft and usability.

  • Understands how to work with and within the requirements of both corporate branding and design systems.

  • Proficient with Microsoft 365 or similar software.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • This position is based in the United States only. Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. GE HealthCare may agree to sponsor an individual for an employment visa now or in the future if there is a shortage of individuals with particular skills.

  • Must be willing to travel as required.

Desired Characteristics:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in user experience/product design.

  • An outstanding portfolio that showcases understanding and execution of user centered design, ideally in consumer experiences, finance, or healthcare, as well as a clear process to support that body of work, including demonstration of research skills.

  • Specific experience designing for both native mobile and web.

  • Exceptional design skills with an insistence on quality.

  • A strong understanding and commitment to accessibility as a core facet of all design deliverables.

  • Design experience within a high velocity agile environment, from concepting and design through testing and validation.
